Scholarship
It is a scholarship that provides funds for children of members of the Andreas Killian Descendants
Historical Association (AKDHA) who are planning to attend:
- Vocational/Technical Schools (college level)
- Junior colleges
- Colleges or Universities
Amount of the Scholarship Fund
There will be two scholarships awarded annually from $500.00 to $1,000.00 annually.
Eligible for the Scholarship Award
The scholarship is available to all children whose parent/guardians are participating in the AKDHA or
active reunion attendees or a proven genealogical or DNA paternal or maternal ancestral line back to
Andreas Killian (1702-1788).
The Scholarship is not based on the applicant's financial need.
The scholarship is not paid directly to the student.
It is sent to the school that they are\will be attending.
All Applications MUST be Postmarked by the Dead-Line of May 10th of the Current Year.

How Winners are Selected
The winners and alternates will be selected by the Scholarship Committee, which is comprised of the
AKDHA President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Program Director.
The applicants must all realize that the final selection as made by the Scholarship Committee is final.
Note: The Executive Committee reserves the right to change or discontinue the scholarship without
notice and notification to the AKDHA membership will occur in the next newsletter or other
communication. However, once a scholarship has been awarded, the award will be maintained for the
individual in the current school year of receipt. If, for any reason, an individual is found in contempt
of the rules of this scholarship, the award will be presented to the next alternate.
Any member of the scholarship committee that has an immediate relative, i.e. son, daughter, son-in-law,
daughter-in-law, wife, husband, guardian that submits a scholarship application must excuse themselves
from the scholarship committee for that scholarship year.
